Adopt a Rat Terrier (short coat)

Rat Terrier (short coat) Dog

Jack (FL) the Dog needs a home

5-year-old Jack is a real lover boy. He loves attention and seeks affection. Jack ALWAYS wants to be petted and is happiest snuggled next to you under a blanket. He is cautious with strangers, especially children, and will bark at first, but after he has warmed up to them he is their new best friend. Jack currently lives with a 9-year-old girl who often has sleepovers and Jack can always be found cuddling up and sleeping with her friends. He tolerates, but is not as fond of pre-school aged children. Jack loves car rides and going for walks. He is a fit 23 lbs. He is friendly with other dogs as long as they are on neutral territory and he is not on leash. He will be reactive and bark at them when he is leashed. He is used to living with a cat and they often play and sleep together. Jack is house-trained and uses a dog door. He has mild separation anxiety and should be confined in a restricted area (like a small room, but not a crate) when no one is home so that he stays out of trouble. He would really enjoy having a fenced yard, but the fence needs to be very secure as he can be an escape artist. You can see more photos of Jack here: https://ImageEvent.com/newrattitude/jack
